Am I Awake or Dreaming

A few things I have learned this week: I can type my debit card information in under five seconds (very scary), online classes are so much better than IRL classes, and moving to New York is going to drain my wallet upon moving there. I have 156 days left until I graduate from UofA and get ready to make the biggest move yet. That's 156 days left to find jobs, internships, apartments, an overcoat, new boots!!! Gee Willikers. So that's not stressful at all. Not to mention actually graduating as well. But, thank goodness I'm 20 and capable and motivated as hell.  HELP ME!

This outfit was so weird for me. I feel like I have a generally polished style, but nothing like a walking J. Crew ad. Usually my clothes are old, tattered, from the thrift store, but I am always mixing it up. I'd like to call this my fast-fashion look. Shirt from Gap, shorts Ben Sherman, shoes are Cole Haan, sunglasses Forever 21. Have I gone nuts? No, not really. Who would resist buying a basic white button up from Gap if it was only $7. That's basically Goodwill prices, but new. THANK YOU ECONOMY. This look is the one exception I grant towards fast-fashion brands and any cynicism I have towards the distopic reality of malls.

Lastly, the title of the look came from this song that I CANNOT stop listening to by Phèdre. Check out an interview from them on my best friend for life's blog, West Coast Fix, and listen to them and love them as much as me.

ALTERNATIVE RUNWAY

It's time to exit through the emergency exit because these pictures are on fire! Back when I posted my look Piloto I was also busy with my very first editorial-like photo shoot. The pictures were shot at the same Pima Space and Air Museum in Tucson, and were styled between the model, my other photographer friend Joie Estrella, and myself. The gorgeous model was Zuhaila with Arizona Model Management. Big thank you to Joie for setting this up!! It was a fun, exhausting, collaborative day.

Acquiring a nice camera has been really transformative for me as an artist. I do not miss those point-and-shoot days at all. Since, I've delved into shooting stuff like this, fine art, and events. Both of my 30 day trails of Photoshop have expired, so I was only able to do simple adjustments on iPhoto. Oh well, I'm a broke undergraduate with big dreams OK? But, how's this for popping my fashion photography cherry? I mean these looks aren't straight from the runways of Milan, but we do what we can here in good ol' Tucson. Luckily, vintage shopping is never disappointing here. Plus, I finally began shooting a subject that isn't myself. God I'm selfish ;P

¡¡ENJOY YOUR WEEK, FANS!!

HAPPENINGS

I look like Jesus on vacation in a trench coat... This look's kind of old. I've been hiding it in the depths of one of the dozens of albums in my iPhoto. I'm pretty sure since this look I've cut my hair, summer started, and I traveled some. Nonetheless, I remember this day being beautiful. Arizona, the desert, Tucson, are nasty scorching ovens over the summer but are famous for the lovely springs and falls. These transitions are the best and only times I wouldn't like to leave (summer monsoons excluded). Hence, at the peak of this moment I was able to wear a trench coat, pants, Hawaiian shirt, and gladiators. What an odd combination. But, I make it work.

Coat: H&M
Shirt: Vintage
Pants: Urban Outfitters
Shoes: ASOS
